Donald Trump has battled the media since his Presidential campaign.
The press is awaiting his return to the White House.
And journalists had one surprising reaction to Donald Trump’s win that stunned Fox & Friends.
Trump’s incoming Press Secretary prepares to handle the media
President-elect Donald Trump has had a contentious relationship with the media over the years.
This election saw the media try to bury him in an avalanche of lies and hoaxes to keep him from returning to the White House.
Journalists went all in trying to carry Vice President Kamala Harris to victory.
Trump’s incoming White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that the press had a surprising reaction to the election during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
Leavitt told the hosts that she was doing a lot of work to prepare for her new job as well as relying on “the brilliant minds we have coming into this cabinet.”
“We have a lot of problems as a country, and President Trump is going to take strong action,” Leavitt said.
She revealed that she had a close relationship with Trump and that he’s been a “great boss” to work for.
“I have a direct relationship with President Trump,” Leavitt explained. “I can call him. He will answer. I’ve been working for him now for a couple of years. So, he’s a great boss to work for.”
Leavitt got a taste of what she’s walking into as White House Press Secretary after serving as a spokeswoman for the Trump campaign and his Presidential transition.
The media’s secret reaction to Donald Trump’s victory
Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy pointed out that she would be a dramatic difference in the briefing room from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
“This is going to be such a change of pace from the last four years, because when the people in the briefing room ask actual questions, they get something read out of a binder, and it is not sometimes accurate, and sometimes it’s just flat-out lie,” Doocy said.
Leavitt revealed that reporters were happy to have Trump back because the veil of secrecy around the White House would be lifted.
“Yeah, absolutely,” Leavitt replied. “There’s certainly been a lack of transparency over the past four years. If you talk to reporters off the record, they will tell you they are excited that President Trump will be back in the Oval Office because they know how much access they had to him and his press secretaries in his first term.”
President Joe Biden avoided interacting with the press as much as possible to try to hide his severe mental decline.
Even the left-wing White House press corps was up in arms about the lack of access they got during his Presidency.
Leavitt has promised that the media would have more access to the Trump White House under her watch.
She previously called Biden’s avoidance of the press a “dereliction of duty.”
Donald Trump’s return to the White House next year will be a new era of transparency after Joe Biden’s handlers tried to keep him hidden from the public at all costs.
