Reba McEntire has been the queen of country music for decades.

She’s succeeded in music, TV, and movies.

And Reba McEntire announced one career change that left her fans in disbelief.

Reba McEntire reveals the movie role she really wants

Country music icon Reba McEntire is in her season as a coach on the NBC singing competition show The Voice

She has a new sitcom NBC Happy’s Place that debuted in October, but it’s never too early for the queen of country music to start thinking about her next gig.

McEntire appeared on the SiriusXM Hits 1 channel to promote Happy’s Place

Host Ben Harlum asked her what her dream role would be.

“I’d love to do a Marvel comic,” McEntire said. “I wanna be a like, female Reba McEntire Power Ranger or something like that in a Marvel movie.”

The Power Rangers aren’t a part of the Marvel Universe, but they have published comic books based on the Hasbro-owned superhero group.

Harlum asked what she wanted her superpower to be in a Marvel movie.

“My superpower would be able to talk to animals,” McEntire replied. “Wouldn’t that be fun?”

She grew up as a cowgirl working on her family’s ranch in Chockie, Oklahoma where they raised cattle.

“That would be good,” Harlum said. “We need to get you in the Marvel universe.”

McEntire is currently focused on her return to a network sitcom, Happy’s Place

She starred for six seasons on the beloved WB sitcom Reba

Happy’s Place brings back many of Reba’s co-stars from her first sitcom

Actress Melissa Peterman – McEntire’s close friend – stars on Happy’s Place after working alongside the country music star in Reba

McEntire plays a woman who inherits her late father’s bar in Nashville and discovers she has to run with a half-sister she never knew about.

Happy’s Place creator Kevin Abbot worked as a showrunner and executive producer on Reba

He told TVLine the show was originally going to be a reboot of Reba

“We had it fully worked out. I pitched it to all the old cast members, they were all on board,” Abbot said. “I pitched it to Disney, which owns the rights to Reba, and they were on board.”

Disney eventually backed off a potential reboot and the idea for the new sitcom starring McEntire was created.

McEntire told the Today show that doing another sitcom was a goal for her.

“I like sitcoms. I was a huge fan of them growing up. And then, getting to do the Reba show, one season of Malibu Country, and now back with the team, my producers, showrunners, doing this new show, it’s just so much fun. I love everything about it,” McEntire said.

“I think it’s the simplicity of it, the nostalgic aspect of it, because everybody remembers watching sitcoms growing up,” McEntire continued. “And they kind of went away for a while, which was really scary to me, because I love this format.”

Reba McEntire will try to work her sitcom magic again with Happy’s Place, which had 10 million viewers on TV and streaming for its first show.
