Democrats have been trying to discredit the Trump economy this entire election cycle after the Biden-Harris economy was marked by the worst inflation in four decades.
Obama laughably tried to take credit for the Trump economy during the rally.
“Donald Trump’s plan is to do what he did last time, which was give another massive tax cut to billionaires and big corporations,” Obama claimed.
The IRS data for Trump’s landmark 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act found that the middle class had the biggest decrease in tax liability the first year the law was in effect.

“And the reason some people think, ‘I remember that economy when he first came in being pretty good’ – yeah, it was pretty good because it was my economy!” Obama ranted. “We had had 75 straight months of job growth that I handed over to him! It wasn’t something he did!”
Obama spent his entire Presidency blaming former President George W. Bush for the economy’s sluggish recession from the Great Recession.
“I had spent eight years cleaning up the mess that the Republicans had left me the last time,” Obama raved. “So just in case everyone has a hazy memory, he didn’t do nothing! Except those big tax cuts. His other big economic plan now is to slap tariffs on everything, from food to TVs.”
The Obama economy was marked by sluggish economic and high unemployment throughout his Presidency.
Conservatives on social media blasted him for lying about the Obama economy.
“GDP growth in Obama’s last year in office was 1.6%. Trump did not inherit a good economy,” RealClearInvestigations senior writer Mark Hemingway wrote on X.
The Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway noted that the Obama economy helped put Trump in the White House.
“In fact, the Obama economy was *notoriously* sluggish and a big reason why Trump won the election the first time,” Hemingway wrote on X.
Trump was handed a terrible economy by Obama.
He cut taxes, slashed regulations, and unleashed American energy production, which led to an economic boom.
One of the reasons that Donald Trump has a better-than-average chance to win the election is that voters remember how good the economy was under him and don’t buy the lies about it coming from Democrats.
