A major scandal by the Biden-Harris administration came back at the worst possible time.

The curtain is being pulled back on one failure.

And one scary arrest of a refugee created this nightmare for Kamala Harris.

Afghan refugee with ISIS ties arrested for Election Day terror plot

The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 continues to haunt the country to this day.

Afghan allies who worked as interpreters were swept in the Biden-Harris administration’s race to airlift as many people out of the country in 2021.

But poor vetting meant that anyone could get into the country from Afghanistan who was a part of the hasty evacuation.

The FBI arrested 27-year-old Afghan, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, for planning an ISIS-related mass shooting on Election Day.

He arrived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma under a special visa program created for Afghans evacuating the country in September 2021.

Tawhedi was arrested for several crimes including providing material support for ISIS and conspiracy.

He and an unnamed co-conspirator were prepared to kill themselves in the attack.

The FBI arrested him after he bought two AK-47s that he planned to use.

U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) told Just the News this could be just the beginning.

“I fear this case is only the tip of the iceberg,” Johnson said. “The Biden-Harris administration has been playing with fire and it’s only a matter of time before terrorists succeed.”

Nearly 80,000 Afghans have entered the country under this visa program since the evacuation.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) slammed the Biden-Harris administration for its lack of transparency about the Afghans.

“Unfortunately, our calls for transparency regarding the inadequate vetting and screening following the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan continue to go unanswered and here Americans almost paid the price,” Green said.

Homeland Security watchdog warning about improper vetting

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Inspector General issued a report in September 2022 that found that Afghans “who were not fully vetted” could “pose a risk to national security.”

“We attribute DHS’ challenges to not having: (1) a list of Afghan evacuees who were unable to provide sufficient identification documents; (2) a contingency plan to support similar emergency situations; and (3) standardized policies. As a result, DHS may have admitted or paroled individuals into the United States who pose a risk to national security and the safety of local communities,” the DHS Inspector General wrote.

The Biden-Harris administration threw caution to the wind in the mad dash to get people out of Afghanistan.

“We determined some information used to vet evacuees through U.S. Government databases, such as name, date of birth, identification number, and travel document data, was inaccurate, incomplete, or missing. We also determined CBP admitted or paroled evacuees who were not fully vetted into the United States,” the report stated.

This sloppy vetting by the Biden-Harris administration almost created a terrible tragedy.

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) found that at least 50 Afghan refugees who were paroled by President Joe Biden were found to have “potentially significant security concerns” in a screening database.

The Biden-Harris administration let ISIS supporters into the country because of a lack of screening.
