Democrats’ efforts to pander to this voting group are once again proving that they think Americans are stupid

Everyone knows that politicians love to pander to voters, especially in years when they’re on the ballot.

Many of those same politicians try to grasp at straws in an attempt to garner votes from people they normally wouldn’t even acknowledge.

Now Democrats’ efforts to pander to this voting group are once again proving that they think Americans are stupid.

Liberals try to woo Libertarians with new slogans

Any Libertarian worth their salt knows that Democrats couldn’t possibly care less about liberty.

However, the buzzword has become a new trend amongst Democrats as they hit the campaign trail this year.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has just unveiled a brand-new ad entitled, “We Believe in Freedom.”

And when talk show host and actress Oprah Winfrey hit the stage at the DNC, she said, “Freedom isn’t free” while also trying to rally independent and moderate voters to join the leftist fray.

The most obvious attempt from the Party occurred when Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz made a campaign stop in his birth state of Nebraska.

He lauded the mantra of his current state of Minnesota, claiming that their motto is “mind your own damn business.”

During the speech, he said, “I know this state, the kindness, generosity, I also know there’s a Libertarian bent. If you are an old-school, Libertarian Republican Nebraskan, this is the ticket for you.”

But just about anyone who has been paying attention will tell you that Walz’s ideology is about as far from that of Libertarians as one can get.

It’s clear that Democrats are vying to gain the favor of the Libertarian vote, and for good reason.

Twenty Gallup polls spanning a total of 13 years uncovered data showing between 17 to 23% of American electorate voters said they were Libertarians, with 27% saying so in 2015

However, the Libertarian Party has had difficulty locking down a candidate who would bring in a substantial percentage of votes.

In the last three presidential races, Libertarian candidates have garnered just 1-3% of the popular vote, but the Party has also managed to get their candidate on every state ballot in five of the last eight elections.

Will Democrats’ plan work?

As Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and other Democrats continue to espouse the virtues of “freedom,” their new slogans aren’t likely to work with the Libertarian base.

Most Libertarians ascribe to the values of Ludwig Von Mises and the Mises Institute, which believes in free markets, private property rights, and unrestricted individual liberty.

Unfortunately, Democrats tend to be the antithesis of these principles as they focus on things like price regulations, caps on rent, and a wide range of laws that restrict individual rights.

So while Kamala and Tim Walz keep banging the drum of “freedom,” astute Libertarians know it’s just a farce.

All this talk about freedom suddenly coming from the left simply won’t be enough to get the votes of people who belong to a party where true freedom and liberty have always been the focus.
