Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and pop megastar Taylor Swift started off in a whirlwind romance last year.
The couple went public when she showed up to cheer him on when the Chiefs hosted the Chicago Bears last September.
Kelce appeared on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast, where he talked about the beginning of their relationship last year.
Swift is arguably the biggest celebrity on the planet right now.
The Chiefs star praised how laid back she was around his friends and family.
“I think that’s why I started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends, family,” Kelce said. “It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention and she just keeps it so chill and so cool.”
Kelce recalled inviting her to the Bears game and how she effortlessly fit in with his crew.
“The first game she came to, against the Bears, I was like, ‘OK, I could probably set you up with everything,’” Kelce stated. “And she just walked right through the front door. There’s no going down or talking to security. She was like, ‘I just want to be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.'”
That was a turning point for Kelce.
“She got beaucoup points for that,” Kelce recalled. “I was like, ‘Damn, she’s in the madness. She wants to support me and do things like that.’ She really won me over with that one.”

Swift became a regular presence at Chiefs games during the team’s run to the Super Bowl.
Now, Kelce is attending concerts on the European leg of her Eras Tour.
“Dude, the concerts are electric,” Kelce said. “She’s having fun up there, so I can enjoy seeing her in her element killing it on stage. I love the show, man. She’s got bangers.”
He told podcast hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan that he was a fan of Swift’s music before he started dating her.
“I really started listening to Taylor’s music when she came out with 1989,” Kelce explained. “I knew who she was before that. We were the same age, so through high school and everything I knew who Taylor was when she was like getting her career started. But I think 1989 was where it really started to go crazy.”
Kelce talked about the balancing act of having a celebrity relationship.
“You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything, you know? That’s my girl. That’s my lady,” Kelce said. “I’m proud of that. I’m not sitting here trying to juggle, ‘How am I going to keep this under wraps?’ You just don’t want to let everybody into your personal life and be able to comment on it, knowing that everything she does is getting a headline.”
